During today’s plenary, I led the debate on a Bill to establish the National Food Reserve Agency (SB.139) which I sponsored.

The Bill aims to further develop the agricultural sector by ensuring national food security and income through marketing and storage services, as well as addressing emergency food crisis. The National Food Reserve Agency when established will implement the National Food Reserve policy reducing post-harvest losses and providing food security for the nation.

The Bill once passed into law, will help Nigeria fulfil its aspiration of feeding itself and attaining national food security.

Following my presentation, the bill passed its second reading, and I look forward to its continued progress toward becoming law.
