I condemn the unprovoked, unwarranted, and unfortunate murder of HRH Oba Peter Olusegun Aremu-Cole, the revered traditional ruler of Koro in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara state.
Oba Olusegun Aremu was a beloved, humble, and courteous monarch. His loss is deeply felt, and I will cherish the memories of our personal encounters. The heinous act of his murder and the abduction of members of the royal family is a despicable crime and a grievous affront to our cultural heritage.
I commend Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his swift mobilization of security agencies to rescue the royal family members. The criminal elements behind these dastardly acts should not be spared from facing the full wrath of the Iaw.
To the bereaved family and Koro community, kindly accept my deepest condolences and the assurances of my commitment to preserving the legacies of the late Oba. I pray Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him jannatul firdaus.
