I had the honor of attending the traditional turbaning ceremony of Alhaji Muhammad Sani, who was bestowed with the title of Magaji Bamidele by Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, the Emir of Ilorin.
Alhaji Sani is a widely respected community leader who hails from the historic Ile-Bamidele compound, which holds significant cultural importance as the home of the renowned ‘Okuta Ilorin’ at my ancestral family house.
As Magaji Bamidele, he will be entrusted with important traditional responsibilities, such as preserving Ilorin Emirate’s customs and traditions.
May Almighty Allah’s blessings be upon the newly turbaned Magaji Bamidele, and may his era uphold the rich heritage of the Bamidele lineage.
