The Local Government Fiscal Accountability Bill 2024 (SB, 549) that I sponsored successfully passed its first reading at Wednesday’s plenary session. This bill seeks to achieve transparency and accountability by requiring the monthly publication of allocations to Local Government Areas.
As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture Production Services and Rural Development, my goal is to motivate Local Government administrations to prioritize the development of rural areas. I am confident that this bill, after its second reading and subsequent passage, will effectively contribute to our nation’s growth and development.
