Today is a significant date in the history of our nation, and I would like to wish Nigerians all over the world a happy Independence Day.

As Nigeria marks its 63rd year of independence, it is important that we reflect deeply on our journey thus far, acknowledging both the successes and challenges that have shaped our great nation.

As Africa’s most populous country, our nation is defined by a resilient attitude that has weathered numerous challenges and a rich diversity that distinguishes us. However, we must also confront and acknowledge the issues that persist.

We must never forget our heroes’ selfless sacrifices in the fight for our freedom and sovereignty. Their bravery should be a continuing source of inspiration for us, reminding us of the values that underpin our nationhood and the significance of preserving and cherishing them.

Under the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Federal Government of Nigeria is strongly committed to building a better Nigeria, a nation that works for the benefit of all of its citizens.

Each of us, within our own spheres of influence, has a role to play in safeguarding our unity, peace, and progress against any activities that undermine it.

We have the ability to build a more inclusive and successful Nigeria by working together and bridging all divides.

We must continue to move forward with renewed hope, vigor, and determination, confident in our abilities to realize the Nigeria of our dreams, a shining beacon of renewed hope for Africa and the world.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria!
