Yesterday, the joint Senate Committees on Health, FCT, and Police Affairs held public interactive hearings on two critical motions.

The discussion on the first motion investigated barriers to treatment for gunshot victims. Despite the existing Gunshot Act, the obstinate refusal and persistent denial of treatment and care of gunshot victims needs to be addressed.

The second motion beamed our searchlight on the root causes of nationwide strikes by resident doctors and the urgent need to end these service disruptions.

While my distinguished colleagues and I gathered valuable insights and perspectives, public voices matter more. Your input helps guide our recommendations towards a more effective healthcare system for all Nigerians.
